This edition focusses on some of the client stories from Exeter Foodbank in 2024.
These stories were used nationally by Trussell for their Winter Appeal – but they all happened at our centre in Exeter, where we have worked to help the families involved. In each case, the support from Exeter Foodbank has helped the household to improve the situation that they were facing.
We are asking for donations to our own Winter Appeal.
Donations that we receive from this will go towards sustaining and developing our Financial Inclusion FI) Project, which is by far the most effective thing that we can do to help people to not need to access donated food from the foodbank. We want to help people tackle issues like benefit problems, debt, budgeting, utility costs and employment.
The aim of our FI work is to ensure that households have enough money to do their shopping in a shop of their own choice. This work is our best route to fulfilling our motto of ‘restoring dignity, reviving hope’.
