We are asking for your help again this Christmas, Exeter.

This year is a little different, so please read on.

1) On December 27th there will still be families who are in deseprate need of food and help from Exeter Foodbank. So this year, if you are part of a workplace, community group or school etc, please consider helping us with colleting and donating our standard food items. When the tinsel has gone, we will continue to be busy – and 2024 has seen us needing levels of stock that have surprised even us. Christmas boosts our stock for the following months and ‘normal’ food donations are really important.

You can always find our Priority Items on our website homepage, but email us if you would like help in putting together a collection.

2) Christmas in a Bag.

We do love this! So many people get involved and so many families like to help other families. Christmas in a Bag also helps us to get a good mix of items (we used to get literally hundreds of boxes of mince pies – but this ensures that everyone gets a good variety).

If you are going to donate a Christmas Bag or two, or three… please could you email mark@exeterfoodbank.org.uk – it is extremely helpful to know what is coming. Some people donate big bags (families) and some give small bags (single or couples). That is really helpful to know too.

We can also keep in touch with you and let you know what we have done over Christmas as we send out little updates to people who email (we do not spam you or ask for money).

3) In recent years we have often distributed other items too or Gift Vouchers. This year we are concentrating on food items only. If anyone wants to donate toys etc (apart from in the Christmas Bags) please look for other charities.

This winter we expect to see a lot of families who need help with food and we are keeping our main thing as our main thing. So it is a big ‘yes’ to FOOD donations, but that is all that we can logistically cope with and find storage space for.

If you have questions, please email us.

As the heating goes on in homes and as the prices continue to escalate, there are a lot of people who are really finding life difficult

Thank you for your help.
