Sadly, we are seeing more and more people who have never had to access foodbank support before and who don’t really know where to begin.
The reason we have a referral process is that we hope anyone who comes to foodbank will be able to receive further support.
Our main referral partners will not only be able to issue you with a voucher; they should also be able to assist you with the root cause of the problem – or point you in the right direction to someone who can help.
For example, somewhere like the ‘Help Through Hardship’ helpline will be able to check that you are getting all of the available support & benefits that you are rightfully entitled to. For more local help and information, you might like to try ringing Exeter City Council.
