(Our thanks to a group of students from The University of Nottingham)
We have tried many times to find local people who would make us some simple recipes using standard foodbank items. However, most times they come back and say ‘could we buy some cheese?’ or ‘can we have a selection of herbs?’ etc.
But often foodbank clients are living in a real situation of crisis and only have a kettle or microwave and have no money to buy any extra ingredients.
We were so pleased to see this simple booklet from some university students in Nottingham. Some of the ideas do require an extra item – but this is the best guide that we have seen. The recipes are simple, illustrated and anyone could have a go!
